It's a good theory but not that case. As I said above, it's an expensive way to fake a watch and my guess is that a hobbyist watchmaker was having some fun with leftover parts.

Yup- I agree. Probably someone's cobbled up project watch for fun.
I made that post in haste and did more googling later, did not find a Deville with that case at all. Only the redial followed that Deville pattern, hence my immediate guess. But then the case even doesn't look like a 321 straight lug case so it really indeed is a mystery what the heck that is!

Great short story skills; it had the required detail to draw you in, the suspense, and then the unexpected resolution. If it’s any consolation, the Mark II will wash up fine...

Please post pics of the Top Time!
I'm sure they can be found elsewhere, but here's a couple ... totally original and the lume has barely discoloured ...

Top Times were born for this style of BOR. My 810 - also a silver dial - came on a BOR but alas with 19mm end links and it needs 20mm ones. Apart from a seller in the US who has them at a ludicrous price, I have been unable to locate any and so have mine on a leather strap, at least for now.

Why'd you have to go and say that? I wasn't a fan of this BOR. I know the style is correct but it's not a Breitling bracelet. I had tentatively offered it to another OF member yet I've struggled to work out what would be a better looking replacement.

Let's see yours on leather but I fear your comment has deemed this watch to forever be on this bracelet.

Mine's only a generic BOR but that doesn't bother me. Anyway here's the Top Time on leather strap. It's a big beast so you don't see much of the strap but I think blue with white stitching works quite well. I have a Breitling buckle on it but don't know for sure if it's original, hope so. Oh and sorry for peeing on your strawberries.
