The seller claims this to be an original dial. What every ones opinion on the dial refinish or original?

hard to see about the dial.... my gut feeling is refinished; the printed minute marker strokes are not right. and to me the inner case back markings are laser engraved..... not a good sign for that claimed age..... no buy for me. kind regards. achim

My vote is also all original. I'm normally very skeptical of earlier Omegas with black dials, but this one has two very good signs:

    1. All the dial lume is uniformly aged and matches the hands.

    2. The dial is marked "Swiss", not "Swiss Made". This would indicate a U.S. market piece.

    Very nice piece,

The script looks very appropriate for 1958 and matches that on 2846's I own.

    Original.

If you look closely the "printing" is gilt (under) the black and not printed on top.

Movement and dial condition match nicely.

I to am worried about the case back it does not look like any other I have seen. I am no means an expert it the matter but it does look some what like a laser engraved it. How are the case backs from the 50's marked? Are they stamped? Any one seen RA-61 on a case back before?

That is exactly as it should be. Not laser engraved, but it is very sharp.
