Sorry for the newbie question but I can't work out what the little numbers are which sit between the links 'latest and 'auctions' on home page?

How many alerts you have
Click on latest and then alerts below it and the number will correlate to how many Alerts ie, tagged, likes and updates to followed threads.
Also it will reset once you do this and start again.

I gotta be honest, it took me a year before I discovered the alerts tab. Kept seeing alerts pop up but took me that long to discover I could see what they were for.

For about a year, I thought my ‘likes’ count was generated each time I clicked ‘Like’. Not too bright

 

For me Micky it's just a little signal that let's me know who is amused or wants to take issue with the total and utter, uniformed, 'old bollocks' that I contribute to this forum.

By the way......This is my 1999th item of 'old bollocks'....accompanied by a picture of my lovely old Omega watch.
