Are you comfortable with the Speedy being offered in a Seamaster box?[IMG]I guess it's just me but I always had this notion that the legendary timepiece should ideally be displayed in the special Moonwatch presentation box[IMG]

    Hi Meganfox17,
Thanks for you reply ...just dor the records I've used the word guys on its generic sense (as in for both genders :))

well I didn't even know that the box is for a seamaster however I've got a seamaster without box so I can use it if the speedy is the real deal of course....I wish that I could find one in the condition of the picture you sent...what do you think about the watch itself based on what you can see pls?

The pictures are not very good and it is hard to tell much from them.

Might be the lighting, but the lugs don't look too sharp, and overly polished modern watches are usually a no-no for me. Makes me question the the abuse the movement/pushers were subjected to.

Something's not right with that hour accumulator dial. The chrono second hand appears to be reset and the minute accumulator appears to be reset, but that hour accumulator is pointing to 1 or 1:30. Not a good sign to me.

That box is the just the new generic Omega box that Omega gives out for any of their lines whether it be Seamasters, Deville, Constellations, and some Speedmasters. New Speedmasters do come in that nice box that MeganFox showed. This watch looks to be the hesalite model but it's missing the bracelet costs about $800 USD. I would offer $3,000 USD or less for this.

Not very helpful pictures. Photographers, don't compose watch photos like nature photography; fill the frame with the watch. I'm not buying it for the box, your countertop, or your scenery.

Also caseback, inside caseback, and movement photos.

Sapphire speedy on a cheap NATO with the new generic Omega box.

Pics are not good enough to evaluate the watch.

It's a tired sapphire sandwich speedmaster. Post 1998 for sure as it is luminova.

What do you want to know?

Is that a scratch on the front sapphire? That would be mega buck to put right. Run a mile unless it is dirt cheap.

The prices on the modern Speedmastrs are pretty well set. You can pay at the low end and get one with possible issues, more risk and no return policy (or a combination of these), or pay slightly more from a respected seller, such as some of those in the FS section here, such as Kringkily and others.

If you're new to watches and intend this to be your only/main piece, I'd say it's worth paying extra and buying from a reputable source to remove the guesswork.

Post 2002 when they were introduced. Serial no. would make it a bit newer.
It's had a hard life for sure.

Definitely don't get that, you might want to research that brand and take a closer look.
