What do you think of this 105.003?

Thanks all! I'll get after that avatar now, I promise.

So I owe you an introduction. I'm an American living in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. My first and only real watch had been a Sinn 756 that I've worn every day for the last ~10 years. It's completely indestructible and beautiful and I still love it. When I wanted to get into vintage I really thought it would be for a Sub or Sea Dweller. The Rolex "scene" was kind of a turnoff though. Once I tried on a Speedmaster, I knew I had to have one. Now here I am. Anyway, here is a shot of the new toy at lunch today next to a steaming bowl of bun mam (fermented fish soup with pork, shrimp and noodles). Best $2 you'll ever spend.

Looks a good buy. Get it serviced by someone who knows old Omega calibres. Probably someone in the forum will advise if you tell where you live. Enjoy and welcome to the world of speedmaster.

Where in Saigon are you? I live there as well but don't spend as much time as I would like there.

Look like it's had quite a life, but that dial and those hands are crazy good!

I like it, has some wear but it's still beautiful and has character. It's actually what I would want from a 50 year old watch. If it was too much nicer, you'd have to buy two so you had a "beater".

That's exactly what I was going for. It's been fun reading through this forum and learning all the different variables and which ones I wanted to prioritize. Pays to be patient (and lucky).

Congrats on the purchase. The dial and hand set are fantastic! Absolutely a great example of a vintage Ed White that can be worn on a regular basis. A slight knock to the bezel or case won't have you in tears. I recently picked up a 105.003 that needs some TLC. Again, no fears to wear it regularly after service because of the already accrued honest wear and tear. But unfortunately it doesn't have a dial like yours....

I wear all mine, but my last buy has been on my wrist since i got it, its a 65 great worn bezel few scrapes but looks ace, but all mine are wearers, if you catch then or something...well shit happens!! doesn't seem much point in having these pieces if you shove them away for years.
Where is your watch, or where has it been? country humidity etc, as seems to have a lot of pitting/corrosion between lugs and round crown pushers?
Still looks a right good looker though!! 馃憤
