I don't think UG had any Sharpie dials.

Yah the central sub dial printing looks way off, but again I don't really know much about UG dials so looking for feedback....

The Sala book makes explicit reference in the text to the fact that it is a redial. sorry if that wasn't clear from my original post.

Definitely a redial, and it looks to me like the bottom right lug might have been re-welded on at the wrong angle, but that might just be the pictures

He is not saying the dial is original ;) I think that is already confirming it is a redial. I bot from him a few times. Last one was a very nice tri compax with interesting history and the price to me wasn't bad. I would not be touching this one though.

rich is a straight shooter, a simple email exchange to with him about any of his watches will reveal that.

Overall ... Even from the source I use, prices are crazy. Mediocre to poor specimens are going for big money. Do your research and ask the forum if in doubt.

Is that the world we live in now? That omitting that it's an original dial is good enough? That he's a straight shooter because if you send him a private message, he would "reveal" it to you? A question that a novice wouldn't even think to ask...?

who knows if he even knows, these dial questions are hard for anyone. Just my 2 cents.

Don't think it was done maliciously is my view.

    Drawarms,

It might not be obvious to you, but it is obvious from a mile away to anybody who collects Universal Geneve. That would either mean that he is not knowledgable or he is knowledgable and he omitted that it is a redial. Neither is good and I think he's been in the business long enough to spot a redial.
