Hi OFs, I am rather new at collecting vintage Omegas and only have one Constellation C-Case from the end 60ies so far. I am looking for a model from the 50ies (was too low triggering for a 2640 model, see my separate post) and now found this one with a nice waffle dial: Any indication whether it has been modified? The second and the minute Hand look a bit long. is that correct? What would be a fair price?
Likely redial, as an original would almost certainly not appear as bright and clean as the one shown.
Thanks Tony, I would not be worried if the right dial was exchanged. The deviation I had notice was the minute and second hand (see following screenshot from Omega vintage database). As far as I can see they only reach out to the second indices. Have the extended Hands been used by Omega in these references as well?
On my question seller stated that he purchased the watch in 1992 from a trusted source for his collection. Everything is original and nothing has been changed. He has kept it in the safe and almost did not wear it since then. Trustable?
I remain skeptical, but without more and better photos of the watch, refining opinions will prove impossible.
There is a damage above one of the minute markers just before the 8 I guess because its just visible from the side (2nd picture) and not from the top (1st picture).
