What do you think about Omega nato straps?

Personally I don’t like any NATO strap. I think they look cheap. Just my opinion and I realize I’m definitely in the minority with that opinion.

Well this took an odd turn.

I wish they made single pass options. The double layer NATO style makes Omega's already thick sports models sit too high on the wrist. Very good quality and material, but too bulky IMO. They should make their accessories with their own watches in mind, not just for the sake of the accessories.

Hi all,

So, what do you think? Please only honest opinion from people who agree with me.

I personally found that one square metal sharp part of the nato strap digs into your wrist and hurts. Also, it’s very long and the watch looks cumbersome. It’s one of the worst straps to be honest in my experience. How is that could be good?

At least that one metal part must be covered it digs into wrist. Those who have these straps hopefully will understand me.

I just want to hear other thoughts from people who have the same opinion as I do.

Thanks!

FIFY. In the future, please be clear in your original post, and things will go smoothly. 👍

So many varying comments?!
Best NATO I’ve sampled to date. I had 2 included with my 60th anniversary Soeedmaster. Having said that, I wouldn’t pay that kind of $$$ for them.

Totally get where the negative reaction to his post is coming from, but I suspect it’s just a misconstrual of his intended meaning. Good to remember that tone can be very tricky on a forum—and (without making any assumptions) that many people here may be writing in English when it’s not their primary language.

Exactly!

I have submitted complaint to Omega regarding this issue, but they respond as usual please visit our boutique for further investigation...
However, what I see here people could wear Gucci bag and it could be absolutely awful bag, but because it's Gucci, well its fantastic bag. Am I right guys? I am not new to watches.
One more time it's not about the money. It's uncomfortable and not engineered well (with sharp metal part) even for $50.
The bracelets are good. The rubber straps are excellent. Nato...
To me it's clear that with so many positive opinions/comments, no reason for further complain or anything else. and with no complaints there will be no changes to Nato straps. Just forget that.
Yes, I am wrong

PS
You could try the Blancpain nato strap on bathyscaphe.
or even on simple hamilton watches for hundreds. Just compare the feel and how it wears vs

Some people like it, some people don't. It isn't necessarily related to the brand on the strap. People have different tastes, feelings, and thoughts.

I can't answer this specific question, as I haven't tried the Omega branded straps.

No, you're not, you're saying people only wear them because they've got OMEGA written on them, because you don't like them, but the quality is excellent whether you agree or not. You're just going to get people's back up with comments like that. Why did you buy one?

Being averse to other's opinions is what a forum is all about. You won't agree with everyone. You don't like it, you are entitled to your opinion, nobody's saying you have to like them, they're just giving you a response. I've been on here and had zero response on several topics. Don't knock it.

Well he is not totally wrong, brand is important to many people, including me. But insisting that everyone should have the same unpleasant wearing experience as him is a bit odd, we all have different wrists. Spending that much money on a strap that does not fit must be a big disappointment.

Goodie! another cat tread.

I think this usually means that the topic is discussed to death.

If you want the ultimate in nato comfort, then I highly recommend the Seiko Seichu. It's expensive. It's bulky. It's hard to source without buying a watch (and you might as well do so - it's $800 for a Prospex with 1-2 seichus, but ~$200 to get the strap alone)

But it sure is comfy.

The OP is obviously trolling us. Just being provocative to get responses.

I am not trolling.
If the product is bad and not matching the comfort which all of us deserve with good watches, the question must be raised. You are telling me to eat what is not good. Without complaints product maker would make no changes and will be thinking everything is perfect. It is what it is
I agree with the message above. That Seiko strap is very good. That could be an example as well.
I am very very surprised that people have completely different thoughts. Usually I am very adequate person, when the light is green - it’s green, when the light is red - it’s red. I am very surprised and shocked

Lol, but food is a great analogy here: Some people love mayo. Some people hate it. It's not something we can evaluate objectively. Welcome to realizing that your perceptions don't match everyone else's.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt, man. But you really seem to believe that your individual experience and your personal opinion are somehow universal truths---that's... shocking to me.

Wrists come in lots of shapes and sizes, and people have very different thoughts about what's comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. I might be one of the few people on this forum who has no interest in or attraction to the Speedmaster---but I'm not going around telling people they should complain to Omega about it, or that they're clearly misguided if they like that watch.

There's no good reason for anyone here to doubt that your experience with the Omega NATO has been unpleasant. There's also no good reason for you to doubt that others have had very different, more positive experiences with the same product. If that's challenging for you to understand or accept, you might benefit from something like this exercise. Not sure where you are in the world, but here in the US, I'll say: you're not alone. More and more people seem unable or unwilling to distinguish facts from their many alternatives. It's become a serious problem.
