    Been looking at vintage Cyma watches, and found these unusual hands. Out of curiousity, is there a particular name for these types of hands? I've seen them on Tavannes watches too.

    I’ve heard the term use before I think in reference to Longines. CAS works too!

    Very close to a style called “Cubist” in DeCarle’s Encyclopaedic Dictionary. The difference being he shows the square on the Cubist hand is open rather than solid. Another similar style is called “Golf”, but the feature on the hand is round rather than square.

    I always thought they were sryringe hands. Here’s a picture of a Cyma I had at one point with the same style hands and a similar dial

    Here's another brand with the same kind of hands. Not mine, so I can't tell you anything about it

    Can't remember seeing these hands before and all of a sudden, they seem to come out of hiding...
