Just thought I'd do a quick post about what watches we all come back to and wear regularly - I tend to return to my Seamasters (Most people will of seen in WRUW?) as everyday watches because they seem to be more versatile and work for more occasions... Below is a couple of Seamasters I can just wear and not really worry about. They both have very nice unpolished cases but are more durable in Stainless Steel, whereas my Connie's fit the more formal occasion and Chrono's for weekends away! Crosshair waffle Seamaster with gold markers and a Tu-tone Seamaster with pink gold markers: Post your favourite daily beaters!
I'd post, except this is the Vintage Omega forum and the majority of the watches I seem to wear the most often aren't vintage Omegas.
I just got an Aussie "NOS" Seamaster SHOM modded with PloProf hands a few months ago and I wear it all the time when I'm working (usually on an Isofrane strap). I am always scrubbing in so lots of hands, wrists, arms getting wet. Late night, jumping in shower, too tired to take watch off, no worries. Basically it's a tank, with a long lasting lume, and I don't have to be delicate with it. If I was shipwrecked on an island, I would be well served wearing the SHOM. Plus it's got all those sharp angles - could probably use it as a tool - haha.
I've got a few other Omegas (Speedy, Geneve), but I also favour Seamasters. I like my grey AT8500, but for vintage, I've had great difficulty prying this off my wrist since I bought it from Mike 2 months ago BTW Dablitzer, for your waffle-dial Seamaster, where did you get that strap from? It matches well.
CLTdoc - that looks awesome. Like a huge bolt strapped to your wrist! NT- it's a Hirsch liberty. Nice Seamaster you've got yourself there! You should try one of these straps..very thick leather!
Certainly not a valuable/rare piece but it probably has more time than any others in the collection. Sorry Dennis it's not an Omega and I don't care, what a rebel eh
I wanted to contribute to this thread, but I find that I don't consistently return to one or another watch in exclusion to others in my stable. Sometimes it's what's new or just back from the watchmaker. I don't have a strict rotation either, just what inspires me at the moment. Maybe more recently these are what I wear a bit more often than others:
I just can't take this one out of my wrist! My recently (bought it 2 months ago) acquired grail, a 1968 cal 861 transitional Speedy: Cheers
It used to be my Speedie, it would get worn two to three times a week. But now Speedie is in rotation with the other 27. This is my favorite (for now). Can't wait to get back home and get it out of the safe..
