    Got these hands many years ago from a watch maker I did trades with. Sitting on an Omega card, so grabbed a few pairs

    Blue coating rather than heat treated

    Seem to fit a 500 caliber movement, but only did a light test on the hour hand as I didn't want to damage the coating

    Never seen them on any watch

    I wonder if that coating is protective and intended to be removed?

    It appears to be similar to a bluing used in metal shops for marking, but comes out different on polished metal.

    It doesn't peel off. Top coated only

    have seen them. on honeycomb dials. and our ,now New Zealand, Omega parts seller Marcus sold a few pairs. exactly these. kind regards. achim

    Some of the 500 series 2846/2848 Seamaster and 2849 Seamaster Calendar references had hands of this style. The minute hand length is different between them.
