What could be the reason for the strange colored date frame in my vintage Connie?

    Looks like corrosion on first sight, you should post some better pictures..

    Did you open the picture for the full size? It do not look like corrosion at all,when looked with the loupe, it is nice copper colour, but not very even.

    It doesn't open up larger.

    The reason is OMEGA, that is the color they used. Gold frame, in your case perhaps a little tarnished

    Ok, thanks, in many pictures the frame looks like silver colored.
