The members are more than ready to help but like OPs to do bit of research themselves Have you tried to find similar watches on Google? Also look on Desmond's site to see if the watch matches any there Then come back with what you've found and ask questions BTW the font style and arrangement is late 60s or early 70s so start there to see what you can find (and you'll need better pics)
Doubt it's fake. Probably from 1970s, maybe with a 700 series movement. Only way to tell is open it and check caseback, caliber and serial numbers.
Yes, I have had a look on Desmond's site and looked through the pictures in his article "A Case Study", where there is a gold case that looks similar but with no case number. I suspect, as JimInOz says that it has one of the ultra thin movements, and have checked Google images and have not seen one like this. Also, it looks as if this has a monocoque case. The monocoque cases mentioned on Desmond's site do not look like this one. Hence my question.
Looks like a 157.001 with a 712 movement. It's from the 70s. There's a blue one that's made its rounds in the forum. Here's a old picture I found. The model is not often seen but not a model that's overly desired either. The dial is easy to fake (most I've seen have been redone) so be careful.
Looks fine. Here is mine, and I love it. So thin. However, the dial on the OPs doesn't look in the best condition.
Yes, I know the pictures are bad. The watch is for sale at an auction site, and those are the ones the seller is using.
