Hi, Have been lurking around the forum for some time now and would just like to start with saying thanks for all the good information I have found! Now to my question.... Let's for argument's sake say that one had bought this beauty.... without asking here first. Just curious, how did I do?!? Is it one of those dreaded "redials", is it a decent timepiece and what would have been a reasonable price for it?
Looks sharp and original to me. I think you did well enough. Not sure what the "going rate" is. But, other than that strap not fitting right, looks like a winner. What's the case number, which is on the inside of the back cover? Tom
It's a nice watch in decent, but not perfect, condition. If you paid less than $700 you did okay. 166.032
YG cap. Have never seen a rose gold cap or solid rose gold version for the day-date. Have seen and own a few of the rose gold cap date version but haven't seen a solid rose gold version for the date only one also.
You did good. For a gold cap watch the case is in a quite nice condition. Looks like it has a Swedish or German day wheel. What does the other days say?
I'd be pretty happy with that, many people buy a pig their first outing, you picked up a watch anyone here would be proud to wear and paid a quite reasonable price. Just get it serviced before wearing it if it hasn't been recently.
It's a swedish day wheel . Fre means fredag . Like it is tomorrow Friday .Nice watch btw .Love the dial . What is the size ?
I saw that now . Probably more likely to be German than Swedish . Haven't seen many swedish daywheels ?
http://www.lauritz.com/en/auktion/o...intage-herreur-i-forgyldt-staal-med/i3882159/ Tillykke med det I asked the experts on here the last time it was up for sale, was very close to going for it this time around: https://omegaforums.net/threads/thinking-of-adding-a-little-sparkle-to-my-life.25864/ I wrote Lauritz.com at that time and they confirmed that the day wheel was in German, had it been in Danish I would probably had gone for it!
Not many but they exist. Mostly seen in 751 Constellations. It is the same movement as the above but a certified chronometer - so there could be a 751 or 752 Seamaster out there with it. Have a look at this auction (ended): http://www.tradera.com/item/190118/...ion-automatic-chronometer-1969#view-item-main
Tack! Funny, for me it was the other way around! It felt more ok to have the German day dial even though I had probably preferred English.
has it got a crystal with a stainless steel rather than yellow gold retaining ring or is that just the light too? If so, easy fix....
