I'd have to say no. My reasoning is that the subdial print looks a little off to the right. Don't you guys think so?

    Otherwise, a wonderful refinish.

    Do you guys agree?

I'm not so good with these military style references. I'd have to vote an older and very good redial if I was forced to voice an opinion.

I take your point about the subdial, but I like it for an original dial. It's awfully crisp printing.

    Older redial IMHO.

Old redial. I know that the companies weren't perfect, but that printing is too far off for Longines to let it go out like that.

They did have some QC back then,

original imo. redials never had the exact same writing than originals, and that longines writing looks correct.

Original. Subdial issue is likely due to parallax distortion.

It's too bad - that auction ended months ago. :(

Similar types come up on occasion. If you like that style, I'll try to remember to let you know if I come across another.

Tony, isn't this style what the Italian Longines forum-ers call the "sei-tacche"? The pre - late-50's style Longines seem to be more popular with them than over here. I've mostly seen mid-sixties and beyond Longines on this board.

Yes, Italian collectors have a particular passion for '40s and '50s Longines, but they aren't the only ones!
