Let me preface my question with the following statement.

In my opinion any Speedmaster moon watch is worth having and are beautiful pieces.

From a Speedmaster collector standpoint what, if any, are the post 1969 Speedmasters to own?

Prior to the Transitionals there were modifications to the cases, hands, dials, and movements but post 1969 what else has changed in the line to be considered a real collectors piece? What are considered the most collectible limited editions post 1969?

All of them. In 40-50 years from now the same question will be asked about all post 2014 models...

Aren't all Speemasters post 1969, whether the 145.022 or 3570.50, exactly the same?

I'm not talking about special editions (notice I didn't say 'limited'?) like the Soyez, just the normal moonwatch.

I think that models with tritium painted dials are likely to be more collectible than ones with luminova, due to the patina they develop.

I agree. So maybe my question really should be what are the most sought after limited or special edition Speedmasters produced?

True to form Pitpro. This would be a great addition.

Yes, this is probably a more accurate question. I have to think about this in more detail. There was a 376.0822 on eBAY with a BIN of 7500$, but its now gone.

One post member. No photos. Asking price of $11K. Not inspiring confidence. I considered deleting the thread because of those factors. Probably will in a few hours.

As far as Speedies with the manual wind movement, I think collectors may eventually distinguish by milestone. For example: ref.145.022 (pre-reference number change), pre-Delrin brake (the big plastic part), bezel changes like no accented E, dot next to (not under) 70, etc.

All of this may take time. Or never happen at all.

    What are the lottery numbers?

Yes, I saw that. The thread on WUS has some discussion of this. Apparently a replacement dial from Omega.

I would also the the Tritum ones are and will be the more collectible ones and the ones or other with an interesting background e.g.
    Chuck Norris Nephew´s son ;)

    ULackfocus/Dennis -

You are right on to question my post. Hell, I would. However, I should let you know that I have been collecting Speedies (and Seamasters) for 25+ years and have had just about every iteration other than the newer/ish models. It's a bug that we all get. I have had half a dozen of the Grails and I share that so you know that I know exactly what I have. I can trace each and every one I released to the next owner and with recorded serial numbers.

The reason I posted the FS ad was because I had an unsolicited ask to help locate one. After being unsuccessful in doing so, I wanted to test the waters. Yes, $11K is spirited. But, so was the Daytona back in the day. And, to the right collector, I may release it and price won't be the determining factor (or so I hope.)

Not being sensitive, just want you to know that while my post count is low, it is not on TZ (5K+) and elsewhere. I am more of a lurker these last few years since my real hobby is my career. ;)

I am looking forward to contributing to this site.

    Thanks all,

    Grail Speedmaster

    Well stop being a lurker.:)
Welcome and we look forward to your posts.
I too was solicited 2 weeks ago to sell mine.
From 1 picture in posts I made on the owners thread,
or maybe one I posted here, I was offered $8,750
as an opening salvo. I have a feeling we are approaching
5 figures for a nice example with original dial.
A lot of them had their dials and hands changed at service
and these are near impossible to obtain to put the
watch back right. Many grail owners have owned quite
a few. Good luck with the sale. Not that far off.
