Somebody's uncle probably made a wristwatch into a pocketwatch.

Glad you posted that, rogart. I saw that the other day and thought about sticking it up here for amusement.

Sad way to maim a good watch. Wonder if a lug broke off so they just removed the other three.

Perfectly aged pie-pan dial and handset. All original and has a running movement.

If you have the right case with a crappy redial and you need a bezel, try finding another at any price.

Someone will buy it. Seller may need to be more realistic.

In your estimation, what would one have to pay for the right case?

If you have to ask, you can't afford it! :D Honestly, I really don't know. I prefer to buy watches already put together.

This is for someone who is building a project watch. Finding a original pie-pan dial in good condition is rare.

That's good because I don't want it. I'm like you, I want mine already put together.

This reminds me of when Dennis found an Omega frankenwatch with a rare case reference, dial and movement. Unfortunately, they were all for different watches :p

The dial was 18K, which he sold for quite a bit. A few of us picked at the leftover movement carcass for parts. Don't remember what happened to the case.

    Dennis should remember.

5 watches were returned to correctness with that franken. Well, actually 6 - but Steve / cicindela only needed one specific screw. I think I still have the case around somewhere......
