After 28 years in the military and 22 years working for a Defence contractor, I thought it was time to hang up the guns.

Today was my last day of full time work. My occupation will now be described as "retiree".
I had a morning tea with close workmates and then headed home at about 10:30.

I got home and to my surprise my Darlin' had taken the day off and prepared a "Retirement Package" for me.

I added the presentation picture from work and took a pic of the bounty.

I think I can get used to this. :D

    A hearty congratulations, Jim.

I envy you...I've got about 9 years to go.

So what in the heck are you going to do now?

    ;)

    Congratulations.

By the way, if I am not mistaken, I live in the suburb in which you were working.

Bloody hell, 50 years at the coalface. I hope you enjoy your retirement. I have heard though that most people who retire end up having more to do than when they were actually in work, but the pay is rubbish..something to do with wives wanting little jobs done all the time

Congratulations! Well earned retirement and I am envious.
I have 14 years left to 65 which is the norm here. I am planning it to be 9 though.

Buying watches? Oh OK, I might try that.

Clever boy, we're off to France in a few weeks time. Spending time in Paris and cruising the Seinne, Dordogene, Gironde and Garrone rivers for a month.

House hubby for a while, travel, buy watches, travel.................

Now that's a plan, as long as the OF members don't mind us sleeping on their sofa :D

Yep, good old Williamstown, I'll still go there for the food and catch-ups.

Leave here August 31st and will be in Paris for four or five days, break out the Moèt.

Thanks for all of the good wishes and sage advice folks. I'm sure I'll be able to spend more time on eBay and Ω Forums now.
