And I'm excited, but nervous about how much there will be learn, and a bit sad to be leaving somewhere I've spent so much time. It's been my entire career so far. I feel a bit guilty about leaving my co-workers and manager as they had no idea I was even considering an exit ...
It's definitely a bit scary - there will be so much to learn, and I suffer a bit from imposter syndrome too, so that's been kicking my butt with "you don't deserve this kind of success! You will most likely fail!" which kind of sucks, but I'm trying to not let that nag me too much.
You need something to calm yourself down.

I heard that the new 3861 Omega Speedmaster has a very good calming influence.

Congrats on the new opportunity!

If you were not worth it, they would not offer it.

Take it and start looking for the next 88%, you are worth that too.

Worked for me anyway. 😉

Dont feel sorry about the speedy departure, feel sorry for the 18 years of being under paid.
With that salary increase I doubt many would think twice.

Is the new job extremely well paid 😉?

I guess that's relative? Let's just put it this way - I am definitely not moving into the territory where my wife would consider me spending $4-5K a year on watches to be cool. So I was probably "severely underpaid" for my experience, and now moving into merely "reasonably paid". We will see how things shake out after half a year here or so with financials.

88% is great! I’ve only jumped twice in 16 years, but only for more like 20%.

Congrats I did the same about 30 years ago only had 5-6 years there when I left and was able to transfer my retirement over. Never forget when I went to personnel to notify them my two week notice they ask are you sure yes I am. Went from getting paid once a month to every two weeks and better pay and retirement best move I ever did. Now retired and retired earlier than I would of on that other job. Hope it works out for you like it did for me. And I was scared to hoping I did the right move but it worked out.
