The parade of oddities continues. What does the hive think of this: an albino Big Eye. The printing seems perfect with much genuine age (crystal distortions around edge are not wonky printing). The right hand set for a regular white dial. Case is identical to panda Big Eye case. Movement serial is a bit earlier than any Big Eyes I've seen recorded. A strange bird to be sure!
It's a redial. Among many things, the most obvious: Notice how the UG applied logo is not in line with 12 o'clock?
Got this from same seller for the price of dinner. It's actually quite beautiful in person with silver gilt on black gloss. Screw back.
Redial, possibly Frankin IMHO. Makes you wonder if they redid a actual Big Eye dial for some reason (damage, inability to redo in multiple colors). You could probably get a decent price for the case & movement if they are genuine UG and proper Cal.125. Would be interesting to see additional pics once you have in hand.
I should have a case wrench in hand on Monday. Will post pics then. I agree about dial, of course. I should say that seller was very up front about odd features and only wanted a few hundred euros for the beast. Worth that just for the fun of unraveling the mystery. southern Italy is filled with strange watches. got a very cheap 7020/0 south of Milan yesterday with cool Italian date wheel. also found a very nice snail scale GP chrono for short money. happy hunting!
