Swapped (on my wrist) my Seiko 5 for the Quartz today and have had to keep looking at it - not to check the time but to see if I'd forgotten to wear a watch today.

Nerdishly ascertained that the 5 weighs in a 154 gm, whilst the chrono is a mere 10 stone weakling at 72 gm.

I think it's very normal a watch with a steel bracelet is much heavier than it's nato sibling!

Check on the Bay in recent sales. I am sure you'll find a couple just like them. 😀

Quite right, and here they are weighing in at 45gm and 42gm, respectively.

Thanks for the responses, but I must apologise for not making my original point properly.

It was that I get used to the feel and weight of a heavier watch (and bracelet!) and without that weight I am constantly checking to see if I've actually remembered to strap a watch on, or if it has fallen from my wrist. I merely wondered if it was a common anxiety or an early (and warning) indication of my senior moments and impending memory loss.
