We are in redial territory, but does it apply here?

I found this rather stylish ref. 2872.
@Peemacgee had some valuable advice in another thread concerning the white dial 2872's: as the watches are known to suffer from moisture ingress, a large percentage of the white dials ended up refinished.
I am however still in doubt about this one and would like your opinion.

If you look at the 2s in the subdials they are subtly different - which they should be - a sign of originality that I don’t think any redialler would do ( although they might now)

Just to learn, are these dials handpainted by Omega? What is a reason the 2's can differ?

dials aren't painted by hand - the differing 2s are just yet another, intentional, Omega quirk.

The 'aprons' of the subdials on this era of chronograph vary (IIRC they increase in width over the years of production) and therefore, the location of the numbers in relation to those aprons varies but the style of the differing 2s remain on this era of subdial.

Mine for comparison - which by the look of the subdial aprons must be a similar age to the OPs watch

Ah okay, I see what you mean. Still, this makes it very complicated to distinguish redials from regular original dials. Normally, using a different font for the number 2 would raise eyebrows, while here it's actually intended that way. Complicated stuff!

@Peemacgee Thanks for your valuable posts.
Do you have any idea if the watch originally was delivered with a 14mm or a 16 mm buckle?

Mine came with the classic 18/16mm arrangement.
The buckle is ‘plaque d’or’ pink plating to match the 18k rose case.

The strap is also very ‘classic’ but I don’t know if they are both original.
