Long story short, Omega asked 1500 euros for servicing, I sent the watch to Watchguy in UK. If you want to see details and pictures you can check here. https://watchguy.co.uk/cgi-bin/library?action=show_photos&wat_id=2495&tk_id=589407611 at the moment there is no picture but I think they will start to show up later today.
It would help if you posted a pic of your watch as a reminder of what it looks like. So glad you didn't send it to Omega. I only have praise for the work Watchguy has done on all of my Connies I've sent them - so you should be in safe hands
Love reading his blog posts, great overview of his servicing process. Hope to see his work on your Connie soon!
Beautiful Connie. But the movement seems very tired! Even after cleaning. How much he charge you for the service?
Why do you say it looks tired? Some discolouration, but no corrosion to speak of, and the timegrapher plots are still unseen. Not NOS, but I would say very decent looking for a 60 years old mechanical piece?!
Good honest looking example, I would be really happy with that Connie. It's not mint grade, but instead it's a great example as pivotal piece of Omega. I Really like the way the dial has aged. The case and movement to my humble eye both seem in good condition. It will be a great watch to wear and enjoy. Congrats on a lovely find. Pat
Congrats on finding a good watchmaker I am a repeat customer too and have also had a 2782 pass through his workshop: https://watchguy.co.uk/cgi-bin/library?action=show_photos&wat_id=2315&tk_id=940308624
Servicing apart, I can't find any 2782-9 SC with that kind of dial. Do you know if this dial has some kind of nickname?
