On eBay or other online watch sales pages including Omega forums some sellers will place a featured watch on a picture or the like. Is it just me or do others have difficulty discerning the condition of the actual watch in those cases? Very distracting. OK, rant over sorry bout that.
We are totally trying to disguise major flaws by distracting you with superfluous bs. https://omegaforums.net/threads/dibs-honored.80770/#post-1033133 Note how I hid the dial damage at 1 by cleverly drawing your attention to the cannon pinion in the background (credits to kyle L) Not being a smartass, my point is that marketing is marketing and that we need to filter bs in every single thing we do. We all try to add interesting backgrounds to our shots and sales or selling is the furthest thing from our minds (speaking for myself).
It can have several reasons: - there’s no neutral background available - they would like to create a certain atmosphere (marketing) - to create a more unique picture - to distract you - to stress you (that worked) But I agree, if purpose is selling, a neutral background works best...
It may or may not be the best sales marketing shot, but the juxtaposition black/colour, tool watch/trinket works... for me. have fun kfw
D'you mean black, moody, leather? ...... like this? Personally I prefer a soft, luxurious, natural, texture in order to create a striking, visual, contrast. A contrast which highlights the cruel, razor, sharp, cold steel, case lines of a, vintage, Omega Speedmaster!..... Case lines so sharp they could 'whip off' your scrotum in a 'jiffy'!
