I’m going to Florence next month and wondered if anyone had recommendations about where to go to check out watches. I heard that the Ponte Vecchio is their jewelry district? Anyway, thanks in advance!

The Rialto Bridge shops were cool, Vacheron boutique and some upscale stores. Looked at a 30t2 in a jewelry store but 1000 Euros for a damaged dial sent me strolling.

IMO no better place to do that.
Same part of Firenza, strolling about at dusk, I look in a shop window and see a lady in her 80-90's, making ravioli from scratch.
Stood there for 20 minutes and got some video.
Italian ladies were spectacular. (I married one, so I can get away with this)

Rialto Bridge, Florence? IIRC, the Rialto Bridge is in Venice. It crosses the Grand Canal.

No deals to be had, but had nice conversation with the staff at the Omega Boutique on Via de' Tornabuoni. I did buy a strap from them.

When we were in Venice in 2012, we were in a tour boat on the Grand Canal, and we went under the Calatrava bridge. I thought that was rather odd, because in Calgary (Canada), we also have a Calatrava bridge! Designed by the same famous designer/architect, Santiago Calatrava. Same guy. Different bridge, different country. Although I must say that our Calatrava bridge doesn’t look anything like the one in Venice. Our Calatrava bridge (aka “Peace Bridge”.)

It has been a long time since I was last in Florence, but my strongest memory is of the (then) exceptional quality of the ice cream.
