Hello everyone, I just purchased a watchco sm300. I am still unsure what to expect. Here are a few pics, tell me that shiny. [IMG]

    Greetings and welcome!

What are your questions about it?

I assume you know that they took a movement from a vintage watch then used new hands, dial, bezel, and case to build it. Effectively making a brand new looking watch, almost exactly as it would have left the factory many years ago.

Are the movements Vintage as in they've been running in a different case for 30 years or just vintage as in- they were designed a long time ago and have just been sitting in a box waiting to be used?

I really do love the look of these

Typically movements used in other watches that have been serviced (hopefully) and transplanted to a new case. I would take any claim of a true NOS, never used movement with a large grain of salt...

I purchased this directly from watchco and was told that it was an old movement that had just been serviced. Now that I have it on the wrist I am trying to decide if I really love it.

I was torn between this and the new Tudor bb36. I went with this because I like the vintage look and figured I could pick up the Tudor in a year pre owned cheaper.
I don't usually flip my watches but may need to in the future as I think I might end up with to many watches.

Haha. I'll keep you guys in mind if I decide I don't love it. I'm going to take it with me on my upcoming trip to Japan. This will give me some time to get to know it better.

Here is a pic of my other Omega.

I do have a question on the bracelet. Are the end links supposed to have a stamp in them? Also is the clasp supposed to be stamped? My 73' Speedmaster has stampings. Also does the case back look correct?

I couldn't find a good website for them but through my searches I found their eBay store.

I ended up just emailing them directly.

Yes, I always get disapproving looks from the wife if I wear a NATO. I think she views them as a little juvenile, no matter how I explain it to her.

Loving it though - I may have to pick one up if it become available.

Watchco SM300 is really water resistant, right?

You can wear it to the beach... probably
Obviously can't be the same for the real vintage one ;)
