Can anyone beat this?

After my incoming SM300 (travelling from a friendly forum member in UK to Germany) had nearly made it to my door step on Wednesday morning, someone at FedEx decided to offer it a free flight to Memphis, TN!

At least it's on its way back now:

 

Stupid couriers

 

With DHL this would have never happened.

 

DHL handles customs carelessly in my country. Never have that problem with EMS or Fedex.

 

Watching the tracking sure beats some of our tv progs.

Sure it will be worth the wait

 

It might be very careless but at least it hasnt been lost

 

Whenever i used DHL for dispatching to EU, it never took more then 24h.
Compared to competition, at least from here, they offer better rates / discounts, higher insurance, etc.
I had delays with FedEx / UPS both dispatching and receiving while with EMS i even had items lost in the mail.
FedEx / UPS customs brokers were terrible or not well trained (not only locals). The communication or documents exchange by email seemed an eternity.
Refund for insurance from EMS/post takes up to 4/5 months.

 

So ein Ärger.
What a mess. Got a fruit from the same tree. Arrived earlier than expected, but I was 9000 km apart from it.

 

That was my question as well; it was already in the FedEx station 20km from where I live on Wednesday when someone accidently placed it in a container heading to the US instead of loading it on the delivery van.

 

Considering the volumes all of these couriers handle, it's quite amazing really, just how very few items are mishandled, much less lost.

That story should be good for a drink or two at the next GTG. Glad it ended happily!

I would hope so. There is a barbeque place right next to the FedEx hub in memphis that has the best bbq pork I ever had.
