Best winder is your wrist. All I can say about winders is you get what you pay for, the more programable the better. If you must .... watchwinders.com. I have two Orbita Sparta that serve me well when I use them. I also had a Heiden go into the bin after a year so I cannot second that Reccomendation. Frankly I don’t use winders at all anymore. I don’t mind setting a watch. Ps ... I also have an Eilux that I used extensively ... that needs to go for service. It also is a good product.
I've had Wolf watch winder for 5 years and it has worked perfectly. https://www.wolf1834.com/category/watch-winders/filter:/
Yes, I agree. Wolf and Orbita are great winders. I recommended Heiden because I own it and it has been fine for the two years I've had it. And, it cost only a few hundered $$.
I just received a free CIRCA watch winder from my dealer and it is quiet and works great. Lots of tpd options. Looks like a rocket launcher
I 'll start saving for that one. Watches that is, to fill it up. But seriously, I have a Swiss Kubik, leather finish. Good quality, compact in size, programmable, runs for 3 years on the same battery. But expensive. Rolex and Omega sold them for a while with their own branding on it.
I have a Scatola Del Tempo from Italy. It is awesome, operates super silently and requires 2 léarge batteries (D I think). It runs for months on those. Honestly, I don't remember the last time I had to change those. I also have a Juvo winder, a little bit "louder" and requires 4 AA batteries, which it will drain pretty soon so I keep that plugged in at all times. Both winders are nicely made and look good. Price is not cheap but it's worth it imho.
I'm thinking that, if I had two automatic watches and I was alternating wearing the two . . . . . . and both watches had a date complication . . . . . . I may want a winder so that I do not have to reset the date each time I exchanged between the two watches. But why else would one want to wear out the watches prematurely while no one is looking a them? I guess I do not fully understand the rationale for watch winders? I like this article: https://gearpatrol.com/2018/01/08/do-you-need-a-watch-winder/
Since I have a 2-watch rotation, one is always on my single slot winder and one is on my wrist. I got this one from Amazon for $50. Not high style, but it's efficient, quiet, and dependable. And inexpensive. https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-Ver...&nodeID=378532011&psd=1&keywords=watch+winder
I have an Orbita winder but seldom use it. I have used it to check that watches are winding properly and when I have not wanted to reset complex calendar watches for a few days but mainly I don't use it,
Sounds like there's lots of watch winders here on OF that no one uses anymore... including mine! I've got a cheap one I don't mind giving away...
I have an Underwood Rotobox single. I WOULD NOT recommend, even if you were stupid rich and light your cigars with $100s. $730? Leather over plastic frame, it has no feel of quality. A bit of a quiet rattle inside from something. Difficult to work the battery door. Runs fine, smooth motor, but there are many others out there for FAR less and better performance..
