    Hi All

I have three omega watches, two modern and one vintage.

    I have the following:
    omega seamaster 2254.50 caliber 1120 (2010)
omega speedmaster mark ii caliber 3330 (2014)
omega speedmaster mark iv caliber 1040 (1974)

I would like to get some automatic winders for my watches. I can see that I need a clockwise winder for the modern watches, but I am getting mixed information for my dad's 1974 watch. I think I need a bidirectional winder that winds at 900 cycles per day.

    is this correct?

does anyone have any ideas about the best winder to get for the seamaster/ speedmaster/ speedmaster mark iv?

is there any one winder that will do the job for all of them?

the one I care most about is my dad's speedmaster mark iv. The others I can get a winder off amazon, or simply alternate on my wrist.

could anyone help me please? My dad's watch is sitting in a cradle, and I don't want to wear it that much - only on special occasions, I would really like to get a winder for it.

    Paul.

Go to the Orbita website. They have tables with winding specs. As far as a brand is concerned. Do your research. Don't buy crap but don't overspend either. You want programmable with a decent number of settings and QUIET!!!!!

Remember that leaving a watch in a winder is like leaving your car running in the garage.

I'm a noobie here myself, but have a Wolf winder and its great. Bidirectional at 900/day. Can find the individual ones on amazon for under $100.

Honestly I stopped using them. I just set them when I wear them.

That a main reason why collectors don't like date windows. Sure they say it unbalanced the watch...

    Hi,
I used to have Beco Boxy winders. Very reliable and quiet. You can extend them if required and put them on a base plate.
But I stopped using them simply because I wanted to avoid having the watches run even while not wearing them.

I've made myself a cover to hide the batteries because I didn't want to have a power cord "visible".

But I sold all this and now I just set & wind the watch only when I want to wear them.

Ahh...come on. You didn't know that, did you :p
It is really a beautiful piece. But I sold it.
I bought & sold quite a few watches during the past 10 years and I am cool with that. Except for this one. I really regret to have it sold.

    Best regards from Germany.
