Watch value

I came across this watch the other day in a pawn shop. It has diamonds on the bezel but either during service or somewhere in its life the bottom of the dial got roughed up along the edge. I could get this watch for about 3k but debate the value of it. If I sent it to Rolex what would they do with diamonds on the face if they replaced the dial ?

Looks like a very tired and rough old datejust, dial could be aftermarket diamonds as pawn shops are notorious for adding junk diamonds to Rolexes

I have a strong suspicion that the watch would be sent back by return mail. Rolex takes a hard line in dealing with watches that have been “customized” with after market parts. I suggest you’ll end up regretting it if you buy it!
