In Chicago we're getting spoiled for watch browsing/shopping. Besides the various ADs (including the dreaded Tourneau at Water Tower Place), there's the Rolex and Omega boutiques, Tourbillon (Swatch's upscale boutique), and Fine Swiss Timing (which carries Hublot, A-P, Breguet, IWC, Girard-Perregaux, Zenith, Glashütte Original -- and as of last week, Tudor!).

I wanted to share a few photos of watches I tried on today at the last 2 stores.

    First some from Breguet

The new Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue

    The Black Bay

A coupla El Primeros (the first an homage to the original, same 38mm size; love it, but a bit pricy ($8,400)

This one is 42mm and seems HUGE on my wrist

This Girard-Perregaux 1966 Chronograph in rose gold is amazing

And...I walked home with this one!

It also has a blue-gray-orange NATO strap, which I will likely soon change to.

We don't get to see anywhere near enough of Breguet's complicated dress pieces, I wish they'd discontinue the XXI and focus down that path entirely.

    That Tudor heritage is awesome.

Which reminds me: I'll be in Chicago in a few weeks.

Great series Adam - you said there is more?....

Available for scads less in the secondary market. Keep your eye out for the grey dial one - it's the winner of the 38mm bunch IMO.

Amazing, yes, but strangely cross-eyed. Pretty awkward design camouflage to hide a small movement in a big case.

No, just these that I photographed...in my initial post I only got up to the Breguets before I accidentally posted the message. I did try on a couple of Glasshuette Original chronos too.

Have have read that, Lou. Still, that does allow the outer tachymeter scale to be legible for a change, and doesn't affect functionality.

Love your new purchase Adam. I love the Black Bay too but prefer the Monte Carlo over it as I think it is closer to the spirit of the original than the Black Bay. Wear it in good health.
