dealers in the uk ask for 800-1000 pounds for these models. (which is not "unfair" as they have a shop and employees to be paid and sometimes offer a broad range of services beside the purchase, for instance model choice and a purchase with an official invoice and a warranty. They also have to pay taxes on their earnings.)

if you buy such a model off this forum or from private people its a lot cheaper of course but thereafter you might need to invest into it.

The official omega service that came along with the watch from September 2017 usually costs about 400 pounds.

To you and me as seasoned collectors buying a watch on eBay needing a service perhaps but, this looks to be from a bricks and mortar store and has a 2 year warranty from STS (service cost £250-300) ? If so, even with the dial damage, it has to be worth more than €500 as the OP is buying peace of mind. I'd guess he paid £750+ with an Omega strap. I'm sure that we wouldn't pay that but not everyone has the knowledge necessary to make a deal on these.

If I was not that familiar with vintage models and just wanted a nice watch, I'd buy from a bricks and mortar store and accept that you pay more for that warranty. Just don't expect to get a deal.

    Cheers, Chris

As a private sale with STS service I wouldn’t want to pay anymore than £550
As a dealer sale with STS service I expect you paid around £1k?

    Thanks for your input.
I paid £1200 for it because it came with the two year guarantee and had had a recent service. It had also had a replacement glass and crown, I have been given the originals.
I was in two minds but it's a keeper and for my 50'th so hope it will realise it's value in time.

Well as has been mentioned you will rarely find a bargain in a vintage watch shop, but you have bought yourself a nice birth year watch with a recent documented service so strap it on and enjoy it :)
