I decided that i really should get my watches properly insured, and wondered what way the UK folks on here do it. Do you have them as “named items” on your house insurance or do you use a specialist jeweller insurance? I spoke to my household insurer and they quoted £60 to add them, based on an approximate replacement cost of about £10k. Does that sound about right?

I added mine to my household insurance. In my case it was an additional £30 but this covers me for travel too.

I suppose that's about right then. Actually 0.5% of value for full replacement against theft / loss / damage even if abroad seems like a pretty good deal.
