Greetings! I was wondering if anyone could help in any way to ID this watch that has been in my family for many years. Any information would be much appreciated! I plan to sell it, so anything related to pricing please do let me know. It seems to be in good condition, and definitely works. The automatic mechanism inside feels like it may be a bit loose (I'm not well versed in watch lingo) but it most definitely works.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

It's supposed to be that way. It's how the watch winds.

Your watch looks like a US market Omega Automatic from the early 1950's. The case looks to be in excellent condition. Most are beat up, but yours is very nice. You'll need an Omega clover style crown, these are generally available from parts suppliers. Better to let a watchmaker order one for you.

The value is going to depend greatly on the gold content of the case. If it's plated, obviously a lot less. If solid 14K gold, then quite a bit more. You can look these up on eBay completed auction to get an idea of current values.

    Take care.
