Watch Boutique event dilema - Advice needed

I have been invited by private invitation to a 'high end' watch boutique in-store event in London's Bond Street 馃榾
This is my first time at such an event and my question is this:-

Should I wear my respective watch brand of this boutique to the event or if I wear another equally 'high end' different brand would this be considered rude or discourteous?
Half of me feels that I should wear their branded watch and the other half feels that I should be more interesting and show independence!

My advice would be to wear their brand, when you inevitably get chatting to someone who is working there you will be able to subtly flash your wrist attire without having the guilty feeling of being unfaithful!

I have the same to an AP event here in Miami... Thing is I don't own an AP and not sure if I ever will as not 100% keen on them
But still cool to go to though!

If I had their brand, I would wear it. Just seems like a polite thing to do.

Agree. A company-sponsored event is not the place to make a statement IMO

Good afternoon Sir, and welcome.
Do you own a Patek Sir?

Oh yes, I just don't wear it, I prefer this Lange.

If you want to ever be invited back, then wear their brand.

The rate at which you receive invitations is related to the degree they think you're likely to buy from them in the short term. Wearing their watch shows you are a likely customer 馃槈

Indeed. To echo the advice you've been getting here--and as someone who was lucky enough to attend an Omega event--you want to show brand loyalty. They put these events on out of their marketing budget, and an invitation, if not through a straight lottery, generally reflects a strong relationship with a local dealer and their view of you as a strong sales prospect.

There's not pressure to buy anything. The events are generally about sharing pure horological knowledge and excitement. But mind your manners.

BTW, if you ever do get an invite... make your best effort to attend. They're awesome! Mine was attended by many Omega-employed watchmakers who supervised the attendees attempts at tearing down and reassembling one of their chrono movements. There was nice swag to take home, and that's before even mentioning a nice dinner at a trendy new restaurant and top-shelf cocktails.

And when you are invited to the Jaguar sponsored events??

I suppose that depends on whether the Jaguar is running or not. 馃檮
