Sorry for the large subject letters. I C/P the title from eBay.
It seems like the removal tools I have seen on eBay are specific for one watch. Is there a removal tool that would be more generic, i.e. used for multiple watches? Is there a better site to purchase this tool? Thanks.

You have to be very careful with that contraption. Easy to scratch your case and/or bezel.

Careful use of a utility knife blade does the trick. For a lot less.

Excellent! Thanks. What elegant ways to remove the bezel.

I missed this one completely. I thought this tool was a jig for holding the watch case. I am waiting for Pahawi’s Opener from Paul. I assume I need a jig if I am going to remove the case back using Pauls' tool. I didn't think to read the description. Dumb. Have foiled again. It won't be the last. Will be looking for a jig.

No. You do not need a jig to remove the case back with Paul’s tool, just hold the watch in your hand. That is the beauty of it.

You don't need a 1000 $ Chip, I use one of my delrin bezel-press dies for it, works well.

Dont use that "chip trick" on ceramic bezel or you will have a crack on it.

To answer your question, most bezel removing tools are generic since the principle is pretty much the same.

If I were you I wouldn't use a poker chip, an apricot kernel, a USB stick or any other stuff to remove a bezel. Can you do it with any of these ? Yes. Should you ? No. Why ? Because they weren't made to remove bezels and you might just scratch, damage or bend your bezel or the various fragile components that make up the whole system.

If you want to do it you can get a simple case back knife which is also used to remove bezels or use a blunt knife with a thinner blade so that it can get in-between the case and bezel with ease

That 100$ tool is indeed better, at least if we're talking about bezels made out of low quality metal (looking at you Zodiac) that bend easily but normally you won't have any issues with the knife either.

Surely it's not that expensive to spend 3$ on it, right ?
