but couldn't possibly resist this one. According to the (included) papers, the movement of the watch was manufactured around 1943. So we're talking about a wooden box that is 65-70 years old, and not only does it remain in excellent condition (with the original cardboard insert intact!), but the outer cardboard box has somehow survived the years in a truly remarkable state! In fact, I've never seen anything like it, which is why I simply couldn't resist.
Ooooh. Pretttttty. What goes inside? Or is this the good luck omen for a future acquisition you've been stalking?
Just the box and papers. I won't likely look for a watch to match them up with; just a rare ephemera time capsule.
And there it was! Rejoice! Yep, that really is a beaut. I feel that the trend is moving towards more elaborate boxing, a shame that it's reflected in the price, however.
