Good Morning OF! I will be heading to Washington DC this weekend and I am wondering if anyone has any vintage watch shop recommendations! If you visit a city and don't shop for watches, did you even actually visit? Many thanks in advance, Jake
I live here and have been hoping to find some. I mainly just see estate jewelers with handfuls here and there vs a full shop devoted to watches.
There is a dealer in Georgetown on Wisconsin Ave and P street. He will have some nice watches, some crap, and very high prices...BUT you can deal. Just make sure to do your homework, as some of vtg pieces have issues. There is also a watch repair guy that is next door, Swiss Watch Works, and he sells watches...really nice guy. Those are the two that I know of...and of course check Craigslist...pulled all of my vtg Rolex off of that. When you are in Georgetown, stop at the Christ Child Opportunity Shop, it is across the street from the other two...amazing things come from there. Have fun, DC is a great city, and is about to get much more interesting!
