Why would they offer to sell it to you for 1/3 of the current bid price?

I would be surprised if the 'seller' actually has the watch in his possession.

One item of feedback - offering would-be buyers a deal too good to be true...

The second hand looks wrong anyway.

It is your money but I wouldn't be risking it.

1 - feedbacks in the past year - 8 positives and 5 negatives.
2- located in Corsica. Guy de Maupassant wrote a short story titled Un bandit Corse

I know what I would do.

There is something wrong with the feedback. The listing shows feedback of 1. The seller page shows 8 total and 5 negative.
    STAY AWAY!

I simply don't understand why this thread is even necessary. @kpaxsg - did you post this as a joke, or maybe some kind of warning? I hope so, because if you were seriously considering sending money to a fraudster you're daft. Send it to me instead - at least I'll put it to use remodeling and post pictures.

People get scammed because they're too greedy. Scammers know people are looking to get over, and suck them in then suck them dry. I've seen it happen in both the watch and wine hobby.

The case is fake (see writing on the caseback and font of the bezel)! Might be another reason why he wants to sell it for less than the current bidding price.

It's baffling to me that someone wouldn't ask themselves this question. Are people that eager to get a "steal" when buying a watch that they'll overlook basic logic and reason? ::confused2::

Yes, some are. These people are why scammers exist. If that greed wasn't a factor, there'd be no con artists.

Yea, I'm really confused here. To top if off, is there really 32 bids already?!?

That would have netted you a custom avatar message of "P.T. Barnum Jr." or similar. :p

He probably wants to sell it to you for 1/3 the current price because he thinks he can go around eBay and PayPal protection by selling it to you outside the site and scam you.

    I would:
