Nice little watch I picked up at an antique shop, looks original but not sure about dial. Crown looks original. Looks art deco era.

Stylish little watch, and I'd have no reason to doubt anything about it. Makes me sad to see what happened to the US watch industry over the succeeding decades.

Nice find. Those engravings are really cool. I like the fit of the small seconds on the dial.

When you get the watch opened get the serial number from the movement and go to this website:

https://pocketwatchdatabase.com/

You will get all the information about the watch that you want.

My guess is that it is from the late 1920’s to early 1930’s, is gold-filled. The dial looks to be in excellent condition for being 95 years old and is original.

Hope this helps,

Great old Waltham you've found. These are excellent wrist watches, but do not offer any shock protection, so be careful of hard surfaces when you wear it. @gatorcpa is absolutely correct in saying that it is gold filled, you can see brassing on a couple of the lugs and the corners of the bezel. The Pocket Watch Database is an excellent resource, you won't be disappointed by it.

I wore one of my Hamilton Piping Rocks today, American watches of the 20s and 30s were the bee's knees.

I wore my Piping Rock on Monday and Tuesday. I’d post a picture, but it is exactly the same as yours.

Thanks. One of the few watches I let go that I regret letting go of was a Hamilton Square with a similar art deco design to your Waltham. I think that style case is so attractive.
