On offer is a Wakmann yachting chronograph, all steel, powered by the workhorse Valjoux 7730 movement. All original, signed in four places (dial, exterior caseback, interior caseback, movement). Case is unpolished and lugs are very sharp. Movement inside is clean. Watch winds and sets easily and is keeping decent time (service history unknown). Dates to approx. 1970, case ref. 333.24. The dial lettering is crisp, with original lume on the Arabic numerals. Sleek dauphine hands are complemented by a sweep second with a rectangular "lollipop" tip. All chrono functions work perfectly and reset to zero. 37mm width all-steel case has a nice wrist presence. This could be used as either a dress watch or a more casual piece. Adding to the allure of this watch is its unique tropical character. Instead of fading to brown, it has gone tropical into a gorgeous bronze colour. The fading has been perfectly even, and no other part of the dial is affected, so much so that one could easily think the dial was originally bronze. But a close look around the edge of the sub-registers reveals small slivers of the original dark blue pigment. Watch is in good shape overall, with only typical signs of wear (e.g. light scratches on case and glass). As is common on these models, the chrome has worn off the pushers, the top pusher also has a small hole in the edge (see pix), but this does not affect its functionality in any way. Watch comes on a new, hand-made, Italian leather band in cognac. Asking £825 + shipping. I have sold and traded several watches before on OF, recent testimonials available here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/terrific-transaction-with-dr-sascha.120969/ https://omegaforums.net/threads/dr-sascha.118735/ https://omegaforums.net/threads/dr-sascha.118487/
