Always fancied a manual mechanical alarm wrist watch... saw this and thought I'd go for it. Don't know a great deal about these but this looks in amazing shape and comes with original strap, box and instructions. Looks largely unworn. What do you think?

Alarm watches are great vintage complications and the Cricket is probably the best known. That watch spent a lot of time stopped at 9:53, judging from the radium burn :) but the case looks crisp. Based on the dial I assume yours contains the caliber 401 - I think it was called the 'little Cricket." Lots of information available on these in the interwebs.

Great choice. I have a couple and love them.

Great watches. I have a couple. Known as “the President’s watch” due to,the fact that they were worn by a number of U.S. presidents (Truman, Eisenhower LB Johnson)

I think the OP's Cricket may be a redial.

I superimposed the logo from my Cricket and Tomvox1's specimen. The Vulcain font looks taller on the OP's dial.

Then again Gav1967's specimen appears to have a tall font

Unfortunately with that evidence it seems likely you are right. The r, c and k look suspect to me too

What about the radium burn? Must be an old redial perhaps? But I’ve also not found a dial the same as this, regardless of the logo font. Could it just be a bit different

I have found only one other with 401 on the dial by google search but the photo quality is very poor. Also the only other I could find with sub dial seconds and no date.

And that looks the same as mine! What with the radium burn and the original box and instructions I have with this I am claiming this to be original.‍♀️

    The dial is original IMO.
The logo has changed along the years

Hello, sorry to revive this old thread but I recently purchased a Cricket but don't know much about them and would like to find out it's approximate age.
I don't have it yet so I can only provide the pictures from the sellers listing.
It appears to be in very good condition and I got it for a good price, any information would be appreciated.
    Thank you!!
