Will be going on a trip in a few weeks time, with snowy weather somewhere around -10 to -20 degrees Celsius.

Thinking of bringing one or two of my vintage watches to the trip.

Anybody have any experience with this situation? Good idea to bring or leave them at home.

    Thanks guys.

If you're going to be outdoors a lot, leave the vintage inside.

Definitely going to wear modern outdoors.

Wondering about generally the weather, if the watch stays with me in the luggage at all times, it should be fine right?

Should be fine I think, just don't go in and out. Letting it get very cold, then coming inside to a toasty warm (and perhaps humid) environment is what I would avoid.

This vintage never had issues being in the cold. :whistling:

My 3 year old Rolex would accompany me on such a trip. No place for vintage that is not sealed and tested.

Where's it's coat? The poor thing will be shivering without it's big red fluffy parka.

Let's say a vintage Rolex sub will be brought and kept in the suitcase the whole time.

    Anybody had similar experience?

No point bringing it if it's "kept in the suitcase the whole time". ::stirthepot::

I don't see any reason not to bring it with you - but you'd better have it on your wrist where (I hope) the temperature isn't supposed to go down to -20°C ;-)

Let's just say I'm thinking of picking something up prior visiting this snowy terrain.

It's difficult to even do watches in the snow here in Texas. The Speedmaster shrudged off this light dusting of snow and sleet winter before last.

I go to Las Vegas to gamble.....

Digital beater & call it a day. Take some extra awesome wrist shots to as a reference in conversation, but why risk losing a piece over non-ideal conditions...

    Sincerely,
