I realized it wouldn't be cheap to buy a vintage watch from a brick-and-mortar place in NYC, but I am thinking of taking an afternoon one day to just admire the variety... Any recommendations of places to hit?

I have been to Central Watch a few times before, and Tourneau as well (although they recently moved and slimmed down their vintage selection I think).

I found this place online, but have never been: http://www.aaronfaber.com/

Any other places to check out?

I could probably spend a day just looking at Kyle's collection... Don't know if he shops locally, though?

Vintage watch shopping in Manhattan? I recommend a cab to JFK and a direct flight to Milan or Munich. ;)

That might make the average watch cost a little higher... Again, not really looking to buy, just look / drool...

NYC is expensive, but if you're browsing Faber's Gallery is a great place.

Lou probably knows some more places. :) There's the diamond district, John @ alltiques on Bowery (some other stores scattered on that block), Aaron Faber, Deco Jewelers, a little watch/clock repair store across this restaurant (http://www.yelp.com/biz/a-salt-and-battery-new-york), the Antiques Garage in Chelsea, the Showplace in Chelsea, Central Watch Band, etc...also the flea markets sometimes has some watches. A lot of the stuff is priced aggressively though and sellers know what they're selling. I buy most of my stuff off of ebay!

I've never had the good fortune to tour with you Kyle, but I will confirm that Lou definitely has a crazy amount of knowledge when it comes to finding/browsing vintage stuff. I was floored when he took me around the city and we didn't even get to hit all the places he wanted.

That said, the weather is starting to take a turn for the better, maybe a NYC crawl is in order?

I think he runs one of the stalls outside in the Flea Market across the street on weekends. Looks like he has some good stuff in his shop.

Yes, I thought so too, but the gimpy guy who sells him merchandise is always in the way with his electric scooter. Didn't know about the weekend stall.

I'm good for any day other than Mondays or Wednesdays, at least until the summer semester starts. Someone who is good at organizing stuff should set it up. I'm thinking the guy with the most vintage watches (I'm SO out).
