Hi, I’m wondering if anyone can reccomend vintage watch stores in Europe.

Im luck enough to be wine hunting for work in March.

specifically Ill be in Dusseldorf for a few days, Champagne for a few, then Paris for one, then a few days apiece in Venice, Verona and Milan.

    Cheers

    Matt

Poor guy. Having to travel like that for work.

No tips from me but I'm sure some of our Euro brothers and sisters can help.

Was in Adelaide last week and wanted to drop in to the Wine Centre on Hackney Road but just ran out of time (family stuff, grrrrrr).

Yep, its very upsetting to have to travel like that. I probably do 3-4 weeks in Oz each year and for the last few years 2 and a bit weeks a year in Europe... have pretty much got Champagne sorted and southern italian reds, now to find some valpollicella (superiore, ripasso and amarone), governo and perhaps some Teroldego, Lagrein and maybe some Tuscan stuff ... see how we go.

Next time u r in Adelaide leeme know, we are based 5 clicks from cbd, happy to show you the place and open a bunch of wines, likewise yourself Standy...

Italy has loads of good watch shops, I remember seeing at least 2 in Venice, a good one in Padua which is a short train ride from Venice, it was in one of the side streets of the big plaza in Padua centre. I also remember seeing a few in Milan. Generally though the prices were a bit steep but not overly ridiculous. Not sure about Paris or Duseldorf. I think generally speaking, Italy is quite a good country for vintage watches.
    Enjoy your trip.

Venice is lovely. And all the gondeliers are big Seamaster fans.

Sassella Watches Viale San Michele Del Carso 3
    Pasatempo Via Dell'Orso 18
    Le Muse Via Maroncelli 2
    Bernardini Via Caradosso 2
    Paris:
Antoine DeMacedo 28 Rue Madame and 201 Blvd St Germain
Charly 10 Rue Godot de Mauroy
Contre Temps 93 Rue du Bac
Les Montres Collector 34 Rue Du Four
Paris Heure 21 Rue du Bac
Romain Rea 26 Rue Du Bac

    Happy hunting!

How about nipping around northern Denmark for a few days? We haven't got any wine, but I'd be happy to help you do some extended sampling of your wares :)

Depensing on how far North you live, you could offer some bubbles from Thisted Bryghus or Skagen Bjesk ;)

Classic Heuer based in Bruggen I think in the Dusseldorf area are good people in my experience.
From memory the vintage watch dealers in Italy tend to be expensive.
