Where do you guys service your vintage watches, especially some smaller brands like Eterna or Enicar? I don’t know any good watch maker near me. Or is there any reputable ones online or even on the forum?

Where are you based? I use Stefan Stefansson of Vintage Watch Fever, a watchmaker with a great respect and passion for vintage and he’s serviced lots of minor brand watches for me (and my vintage Omegas) no problem.

however, he’s based just outside of London, so if you're not UK based it’s unlikely he’ll be much help.

I service my Enicars myself :)

Do not have any Eternas that I recall. On the other hand I have Dozens of A Schild 1184 watches, which is a decent and easy movement to service. Always amazes me how a few letters on a dial may affect how much appreciation a watch may garner.

Of course this is a really old thread. So the mileage may vary.

I just sent a Zodiac to Andy a couple weeks back on a recommendation. Waiting to get it serviced. He's very responsive by email and prices are reasonable.

I'm looking for a good place to send my vintage Omega's in for service. Are you local to Andy or do you ship him the watch from a distance? I was wondering if is it better to ship it to someone who comes highly recommended--even if in another State---or better to find a local one to go in person?

I prefer the latter but I am happy to ship it if that is what is best for the watch. Sending it in the mail gets me nervous but it seems to be pretty reliable and safe with insurance and tracking. Can anyone recommend a place in the San Francisco Bay Area?

I shipped it from NY. He was just cheaper than my options in NY (and there are many qualified watchmakers in NY).

If you're in SF, there should be plenty of options in the area if you want to stay local. I recommend searching on Google Maps. I always get the best results from Maps when looking for local vendors compared to a broad Google search.
