    Meanwhile... somewhere in Asia, workers are trying to work out how to make suede look aged for vintage Omega boxes...

    Or at least they will when they figure out what these boxes sell for

    Crazy, I've seen sterling Centenary boxes go for this much, but never one of these.

    I've seen the silver Constellation boxes go for less. However, these Chronometre boxes are a lot rarer.

    I would say these boxes are as rare as the red boxes for the 2913, 2914 and 2915 watches perhaps even rarer. There are collectors who have NOS omega manual wind chronometres and this box would make a great addition to that kind of watch.

    Haven't communicated with Erich lately but he keeps close tabs on all things omega chronometre on ebay particularly manual wind versions so it is possible he is the buyer.
