A new incoming has a killer vintage strap.

Unfortunately it smells really badly, and is old.

It is perfect to the watch it came on, and I would be thrilled to find a new clone.

Anybody familiar with these or modern variants?

It’s the standard vintage taper 20mm to 16mm…and just look at those killer ridges…they certainly don’t make them like this anymore.

All tips/tricks/info/new-makers welcome!

Thanks OF for this space.

Is that an AquaStar buckle ? Maybe search old vintage AquaStar ads to see if you can find the Same.

Yes, it’s an Aquastar buckle. The Aquastar I find pictures of this buckle on is rubber…

Which watch did this come on?

Vintage Mil Lemania…

That’s a very nice suggestion…many thanks.

you can try treating the strap with neatsfoot oil.. should make it supple again and eliminate the smell.

I would call this a leather "double ridge" strap. Do a search on Ebay and you'll see designs similar to it.

Another alternative is to reach out to a custom strap maker--there's quite a few on Etsy--and see if they can replicate the strap for you.
