    Hi all,

I have a vintage 1970's Mark ii - that was serviced a year ago by a quality professional. This is my first Speedmaster.

My question: I use my chrono daily during workouts and runs. 95% of the time my chrono hands reset beautifully. Sometimes however, for no apparent reason, when resetting, the seconds hands will fly back past the 12 o clock marker, all the way back to the 11 o clock marker. the minutes counter subdial will also be out of sync. Now, If I start the chrono again and do a quick reset it all goes back to normal and resets perfectly.

Is it normal for this to happen everyone once in a while (1 out of 25 resets approx)?

    Thanks for any help.

    No. Not normal.

The fact you indicated it is limited to the seconds recorder (central hand) and the minute recorder, and didn't mention the hour recorder, suggests a problem with the hammer or maybe hammer spring for those two hands.

I would speak with your watchmaker to see if they will have a look.

    Cheers, Al
