Vintage Speedmaster Bracelet - Larger Wrist Options

I've been looking at some older Speedmasters with 1506 and 1039 bracelets.

I have a 7.5" wrist and it seems like most of the watches I come across with bracelets will not fit (ex. I am looking at one with a 1506 bracelet with 20 total links where it seems like I will need closer to 24-25 links to fit my wrist).

I have been hunting around to see if there are spare links that come up for sale and have not seen much, if any. It all doesn't seem like there are modern replica links available either.

What options are out there for those without small wrists?

Thank you!

I have a 7.5” wrist and a full length 1039 fits me with ease. In fact I have to use much of the micro adjustment in the clasp to make sure it’s not flopping around.

You will be ok if the bracelet hasn't been shortened somewhere along the way, unfortunately many have and the links lost to the mists of history. Especially true of watches coming from Japan.

When you say full length, how many links is that?

From what I have seen 25-26 total links?

I have about 24 or 25 on mine and 7 3/4" wrist. But finding a good bracelet is quite tough as many of the spring loaded links are really weak. I've a few of the spare links which I have taken the good parts to get the necessary springs and bits to make enough of the links to fit my wrist.

I've yet to try the Uncleseiko or Forstner flat link bracelets, but I should actually go ahead and buy one 😁

A full length 1039 has 8 fixed links on each side, plus 4 spring links on one side and 6 on the other so a total of 26 links.

Plenty of people are sitting on spare links, but they're not terribly motivated to sell, so you may need to pry them away by making it worth their while. Try a WTB listing.
